'Imagine your wife being victimised'

your say We see male police officers abusing the rights of women detainees such as asking them to change clothes in the lockup, in clear view of male officers. What is their intention?

On Teratai 16 freed on police bail

John Johnson: When Jenice Lee was detained in the lockup, she was subjected to humiliation and degradation while being detained. She was asked to change her clothes in the lockup with male police officers walking in and out of these cells. What was their intention? To see her naked or to take photographs?

I wonder how would they feel if their own wives were the victims. It is indeed a big slap on our defense minister and prime minister. Is he aware of these flagrant abuse of laws and human rights?

They rather go to embassies and protest on what is going on in other countries. At our very own doorstep, we see the police behaving like the gestapo (OCPD Brickfields). We see male police personnel abusing the rights of women detainees. We see the police force detaining people who wear black.

Since when did the government dictate to the people what clothes they should wear? This country is treading on dangerous ground and the people have tolerated a lot. This situation is definitely spiralling and is going to erupt anytime. We seek the people in power to settle issues once and for all so that we can all live harmoniously and peacefully. I hope the PM is listening intently.

On Dear BN cronies, your time's up

JohnJ: Forget analogising the French (or dissident Chinese). Watch how this regime persecutes those Malaysians who dare challenge the regime -- again and again.

I heard this story in a motivational CD. There was this young guy at the Tiannanmen Square and this whole bunch of youngsters were getting ready to stand for their cause. A reporter saw this youngster wearing a headband in the truck. This reporter asked him: "Why are you doing this for? He replied: "We want to be like the Americans, to fight for freedom and our land should be a free land." And away in a cloud of dust he was gone.

No one knows whether he survived the onslaught after that but for that brief moment he was standing together with his countrymen and made a change for he very people who are enjoying their freedom now.

Today, we have Sabah and the people are fed up - they want to kick Bernas out as the firm is monopolising their livelihood. We have the middlemen who control mostly everything. As a result, the poor farmers and small- and medium-businesses are not given a chance to grow. We, Malaysians, should now take a stand and forever eradicate all these malpractice, at least for the sake of our children and their children.

It is indeed true that we, Malaysians, are being persecuted just because we support another political party and a better life. While the persecution is going on, our leaders are silent and pulling all the resources they have to instill fear and intimidation. We will not submit.

On Sivakumar and 7 Pakatan reps arrested in Ipoh

Veritas: Do what you feel is right. Get arrested in the cause. Fill the courts with frivilous cases.Ultimately and even now it is the arresting entity that is looking more ridiculous. A bunch of clowns, indeed.

MalaysianJustice:

Are the Perak police showing their true colours as BN's personal gangsters?! The best way is to cut off their main supply of bribery money.

All Malaysians know that illegal DVDs, pornography, brothels (health centres), gambling dens (cyber cafes), entertainment outlet (karaoke and massage centres filled with illegal foreign workers) are rampant in Malaysia. So how is it that the police never seem to detain these operators?

The police can track down Raja Petra in Australia but can't tell that there is an illegal brothel running right behind their police station. Don't be fooled. The illegal industry is feeding the greed of these corrupt police.

On She set us up, claims PKR duo

Ong: Pakatan Rakyat (PKR) gets set up because they never learn from their past mistakes, even after losing Perak. The procedure for contesting elections is very simple. Decide on a candidate and file your nomination papers. Then campaign and let voters decide on polling day.

If a hundred others wish to stand as independents, then let there be a hundred independents. Negotiations with other potential candidates for the purpose of coaxing them to drop out amount to depriving voters of other choices.

Hope they really get into big trouble this time. Then maybe they will learn.

On I'm not sure it was bribery, Aminah now says

Kenny Gan: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should not turn itself into a laughing stock by pursuing Aminah's incredulous allegations with lightning speed and extraordinary zeal. If only MACC displays such exceptional efficiency over reports of corruption against BN politicians, we would be well on our way to winning the war against corruption.

The MACC speeds to investigate former Penang DCM Fairus as soon as allegations against him surfaced but sees nothing wrong with Khir Toyo's multi-million junkets to Disneyland on the public purse.

This stark difference in treatment between opposition and BN politicians is what pulls the credibility of the MACC down and makes it look like Umno's cat's paw in the eyes of the public. The public cannot be blamed for this perception as it is the Commission which is denigrating itself by its actions.

On Second arrest warrant out for RPK

Perry: It is funny that our police is seeking Interpol's assistance in tracking down RPK. It is just a public relations stunt as the police well knows that Interpol is not allowed to pursue any political intervention and RPK's trials are all very political.

Any country will accept arguments that the trials against RPK are solely of political nature and to act on Interpol's notice would be in contravention of its Article 3 of Interpol's constitution, which reads: It is strictly forbidden for the Organization (i.e. Interpol) to undertake any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character.

You see, unlike Malaysian courts and some other elements of Malaysian society, Interpol actually abides by its constitution.

To RPK, Godspeed brother, they will never dare touch you!
