I refer to the Malaysiakini report Security Council to mull calls for Gaza truce .

It is very disturbing for me to see many innocent children and women dying in the war in Gaza. It`s entering into its 11th day and the civilian death toll is expected to rise more. Hamas and the Israeli government are both unwilling to lay down their weapons therefor creating a path of death for more civilians.

All over the world, there have been mass protests condemning Israel for its air strikes and ground offensive in Gaza. Some call it a bloody war and some say it a slaughter. The media around the world is propagating the incident, making it look bad for Israel and they take sides with the Palestinians.

Much criticism is being directed at Israel. And now, even some NGO`s and human rights groups around the world are atacking Israel.

There is no call from most NGO`s, human rights groups and even governments that Hamas needs to stop firing rockets into Israel. Has the world forgotten the number of innocent civilians, women and children that have died due to the deadly rockets fired by Hamas into Israel?

Why were there no protests or vigils when Hamas broke the ceasefire agreement ? Of course, some would say it is a long story of a land dispute but does that justify the act of terrorism?

For whatever reason it is, the United Nations agreement cannot be ignored. The international laws need to obeyed by both parties. This is for the sake of peace in this world.

This is for the sake of the innocent civilians who do not wish to be in this war. NGOs around the world must take a neutral stand and call for peace from both sides.

Some repeatedly blame Israel for the death of civilians in Gaza city. But it was Hamas who decided to sacrifice innocent Gazans in this war. This is a dirty terror tactic played by Hamas.

They choose schools, mosques and civilian homes to store their weapons and deadly bombs knowing that it would be hard for Israeli troops to target these places due to the international pressure.

NGOs and the media are being dragged into Hamas’ propaganda and thus inadvertently show their ‘support’ for terrorism.

The world needs to remember that Israel has launched a defensive military operation. It was for the sake of the millions of innocent civilian that live in Israel. These people are in fear everyday of the deadly rockets that are fired by Hamas, and this has been happening for the past seven years.

Hamas has the capability of firing more than 200 rockets a day into Israel. This type of terrorism needs to be destroyed completely from this world. The world needs peace.

And that only can be achieved if all parties comes to an agreement and lay down their weapons. All types of terrorism needs to be defeated in order for peace to exist in every nation in this world.

I extend my greatest solidarity for the civilians in Gaza that have been dragged into this war by Hamas. The best that I can give from here are my prayers for protection of the innocent. May peace come upon them and may we all live as brothers and sisters in unity and in one spirit.

This war in Gaza is not about a land dispute. It is about something bigger than that. May this war come to an end.

I would also advice all readers to be careful in the vigils and demo you take part in regarding the war in Gaza. Be sure that the organisers take a neutral stand and are demanding for peace from both sides.

A bad example of a demo was the one which was organized by Umno recently in front of the Palestine embassy in KL. The demo only supported the Palestinians and the religion card was played.

The demo even turned unruly when the Palestinian ambassador to Malaysia got angry with the protesters for displaying photos of Hamas and its leaders in their protest.

View the video of that incident.
