Sue the liars instead of blaming everyone else
SH Huang | Jul 10, 08 4:43pm

I refer to the Malaysiakini report Are we sick of politics?

I read the above analysis on the Malaysian political scene and the twists and turns which must make us all dizzy and confused. I agree with them that all the actors and actresses must provide proof, proof and proof.

If the particular person cannot or is unwilling or unable to produce evidences, then he or she is a blatant liar.

If that is the case, then sue the liars and do not give some lame excuse that you are too busy or the media is too powerful. This is nonsense. On this matter, it is your name that is being dragged through the mud.

What is more important than tour reputation? Do not just say slanderers have smeared your name or that bloggers have dirtied your name on the Internet. Why sulk and moan about all these scandals and smears and libels?

Have the guts to sue the liars and make them pay dearly and fully. Do not forgive and do not forget. Have the guts to do it the only honourable way and that is to sue otherwise you are no leader but a liar yourself. Do not treat the people as fools.

Look at the examples of great leadership and integrity in Singapore. You touch on the integrity of any leader, you will be sued as sure as the sun rises from the East. You must pay the heaviest penalty for your big mouth.

You bring drugs into Singapore, then be prepared to be hanged, no questions asked, no mercy at all. Even President Suharto of Indonesia could not save an Indonesian drug-pusher no matter how powerful he was.

No power on earth could shake the resolve and determination of Singaporean leaders.

It is a pathetic sight in Malaysia. I say to most of our leaders - you have no guts. You just shout from the rooftops and blame the media, blame the bloggers , blame Malaysiakini, blame ‘Malaysia-Today’, blame RPK for all the stories.

If they are not true, why don't you sue them? Make them pay for their lies. Or are they lies? Are they liars?

Why use your power to drag Raja Petra Kamaruddin to the police station and grill him for 17 hours? Why summon his spouse and question her for two hours? Why not drag others (your people) to the same police station and question them for 17 hours too?

Yes, no man is above the law. Very nice words but they ring hollow. Put your name on the line and practice what you preach. Don't just preach. Act fairly and justly .

Let there be justice for all. If you value your name, then you must take action at once - sue that liar if he is one. If you don't, then you do not value your name or you are actually the liar. You are no leader.

Justice must not be cock-eyed. The police should investigate all parties and not be selective. The attorney-general’s chambers must set up an internal committee comprising knowledgeable and reputable personalities to decide whether there is a case or not and a judge must be beyond reproach (a doubtful character should not hear any case).

Only when we have honourable people could we say that there is justice; otherwise no. So show proof or sue the liar. Your name is on the line. You dare not sue ? Then, what is your precious name worth? Nothing.
