We refer to the letter Handbag snatched inside shopping complex .
We read the above letter from one Shoba Menon with grave concern. As the spokesperson for the management of the Summit shopping mall, it gives me the privilege to reply.
The handbag was NOT snatched, it was left on a seat whilst the shopper walked off to choose a pair of shoes.
For the information of your readers and the kind information of the shopper, we would like to state here that we have taken this long to reply because we have investigated this matter with the shoe shop assistant, the customer services assistant Ms Francesca Grace, the security guard concerned and the duty manager and we are satisfied with their replies and the assistance accorded to the dear shopper.
The shopper however, refused to cooperate with the staff and ignored their instructions to report the matter to the Security Office at Basement 1 to enable us to undertake further assistance.
In her state of shock and dilemma, the shopper and her spouse had uttered ‘some very harsh’ words which is understandable.
We do not have any details of the shopper for us to be in touch with her or even to find out in detail her side of the story.
Our doors are always open for all shoppers to call upon us during normal office hours at Level 9 of Menara Summit.
The writer is spokesperson for the management of the Summit shopping mall.
