Pak Lah can be Pakatan gov't's foreign minister

In my opinion, Malaysia will do much better under Anwar Ibrahim and Pakatan Rakyat. The writing is on the wall for the Barisan Nasional and while there are those who think Barisan MP's should not change sides to Pakatan Rakyat, I think it depends. Some Barisan MPs think like Pakatan Rakyat politicians but did not have the opportunity to prove it knowing how dictatorial the Barisan leadership is. Now that Anwar Ibrahim is back in politics they have the chance now to make the difference. They should cross over to Pakatan Rakyat.

Let's not wait five years. Spare the rakyat the torture of having another Umno politician lead the country. Fifty years of torture is all we can take. Let's have a fresh start now where the government and the rakyat can all work together for the good of the poor Malays and everyone.

There will be a huge celebration when Pakatan Rakyat wins government. That is why Umno is shivering in its sarong . Before the elections, they insulted Anwar Ibrahim and pretended to write him off. But when the newspapers was filled with news and reports against Anwar Ibrahim, it confirmed the dishonesty of his critics. Why discuss and attack someone that you had already written off? If Anwar is such a dead horse why flog it?

As for Dr Mahathir, why does he not just disappear? He should spend more time with his good friend Robert Mugabe and see how the Malaysian wood he gave him at taxpayers' expense has been used in his new mansion in Zimbabwe. He is the most unprincipled Malaysian politician I have ever observed. At a time when former leaders are either doing charity work and some worthwhile thing, he only creates trouble for others and himself. To hear his son Mukhriz bemoan how it hurts him to see his father criticised, the man must be blind. What about the people that his father hurt? Who started the quarrels? Never have so many Malaysians been hurt by one person.

His father is unconscionable. He put someone in power after him and then does every thing in the book to topple him. How low can you go? And as far as I know, everyone is wrong and he is right. How arrogant can you get? During Operasi Lalang he made so many wives, mothers and children suffer.

So Najib wants to be the next PM? Says who? This man who stands solidly behind his boss and has often proclaims his loyalty, let's see how true to his word he is. But believe me, watch Brutus do his thing. Poor Pak Lah, will he ever get it? I have criticised him before but now he needs no more criticisms. He does that all for himself.

Anwar. Lim Guan Eng, the Hindraf 5, Lim Kit Siang and others who have done time in prison - these guys have earned their stripes. They have been proven and tested and not failed in their resolve to continue to fight for the things they believe in. They deserve a chance at leading the nation.

I propose Anwar Ibrahim as the next PM, with Lim Kit Siang as his deputy (or Lim Guan Eng but let him help Penang for a while more) and Karpal Singh as the Attorney-General. The first thing for Pakatan Rakyat to do is to hold a giant meeting at Merdeka Stadium or Merdeka Square and declare a great victory for the rakyat . I shall then be pleased to shout Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka! until I grow hoarse or die happy.

Pakatan Rakyat should then begin to dismantle every evil policy that the Barisan has initiated to divide and destroy the country. The British knew that when they designed the constitution that it would be a festering sore to the nation. Their poisoned legacy of divide and rule must be purged from the Malaysian psyche and Pakatan Rakyat must begin the task of re-building the nation as a single nation, not a dichotomous one between Malays and non-Malays.

It should hold a royal commission into the government for the past 22 years and ask Mahathir to testify as a principle witness. The truth shall be known and the country will forever be held up as a democratic country that is capable of correcting itself even if it takes half a century to do it. Perhaps the good doctor knows the foreboding future and is desperately seeking to get rid of his stumbling block. It is a pre-emptive strike. Just hang on in there, Pak Lah.

Pak Lah should spare himself the anxiety and join Pakatan Rakyat and be done with those in Umno who merely want to destroy him. Since Pak Lah loves travelling, he could be Foreign Minister. What better win-win scenario can you imagine than that? Since Malaysia has no enemies, it would be a low-risk job that Pak Lah can handle. After all, he is well known overseas and all that flying will give him ample opportunity to catch up with sleep.

Every Malaysian can them commit themselves to helping every poor Malay uplift his economic fortunes together with Chinese, Indian and others. The country has the resources to do that when you consider the billions the Barisan government squandered in the past 50 years sending pin-up boys for space joy rides and on white elephant projects.

House prices will rise as the economy picks up from the Malaysian diaspora returning and the brain drain will cease - perhaps even do a reverse. Malaysia will enter a new era of civilisation and just think how proud all of us will be.

I wish Anwar Ibrahim all the best as he finally gets the monkey off his back and is able to take active part in politics once more without being a proxy leader. I hope he will remember that with privilege and people support comes humility and responsibility. Pride comes before a fall and if Anwar has learned that lesson, then all will be well. Do not forget who put you back where you are and always serve the people and their interests for that is the true mark of a leader.
