I refer to the Malaysiakini report Dr M warns of unrest amid political turmoil .

Dr Mahathir Mohamad said: ‘Because of this weakness (of the government) there is a tendency for centrifugal forces to draw away from each other. The answer to this is for the prime minister to step down. He has not acknowledged that he has failed the party."

I notice from the above paragraph that the infamous Dr Mahathir has now resorted to applying the science of physics to analyse the current state of political affairs in the country and to come up with his own version of the ‘perfect answer’ to resolve what he sees as the potential threat from the force of unrest in multi-racial Malaysia.

Looking at the rather interesting current political scenario in Malaysia using my own special and relative point of reference (as points of reference are important in the theory of special relativity by the way), I would evaluate the situation somewhat differently and outline it as follows.

The centrifugal force referred to by the good doctor is, as any scientist worth his salt knows, a fictitious force in physics and only exists when the frame of reference being used is a non-inertial one.

So if using an inertial point of reference for Malaysia, my scales of evaluation suggest that Abdullah, the present prime minister, should simply ignore the good doctor’s illogical ranting about fictitious centrifugal forces being present as they are baseless in physics.

He ought instead to task his best people to use their brains to work on and calculate the exact magnitude of the real centripetal force/acceleration requirement to manifest continued stability in Malaysia and contemporaneous with a real and uniform velocity of constant dynamic change applying principles of kinematics and kinetics.

If Abdullah is using a non-inertial point of reference however, such as a rotating reference frame which may be experiencing motion perhaps through an agitated state of flux, then one suggests the PM task his best people/brains to calculate the exact magnitude of the compensating fictitious Coriolis force required to cancel out the fictitious centrifugal force in that frame of reference and to provide a correcting effect like that provided by the real centripetal force in the non-inertial frame of reference.

My analysis is, therefore, tending to suggest that the real, non-fictitious answer to apply to any potential and fictitious centrifugal force in Malaysia may not, in fact, be for Abdullah to step

down as recommended by the good doctor. Dr M’s analysis is erroneous and so has consequentially derived a nonsensical answer or it could be that his analysis may have been based more on the false premise of a concrete and personal hidden agenda to maybe generate a self-fulfilling prophesy rather than to apply any abstract principles of physics in a scientific manner.

So my evaluation is tending to point to the fact that the present PM should not step down as recommended but should instead focus on finding out what the compensating real centripetal force requirement (or fictitious Coriolis force) is with reference to the situation at hand.

Once Abdullah has found that out, then logic and reason suggest that the real answer for solving all his and Malaysia’s political issues - real, fictitious, potential or otherwise - may simply be for Abdullah to call upon that hidden reserved force within his nature’s real leadership qualities and to go for broke by applying the right answer in a ‘shock and awe’ move with the fearless tenacity and focused clarity of a good visionary akin to the classic Prometheus.
