When General Zhau Zi Ying (of the Three Kingdoms period) was told that his enemy Zhau Zhao was gathering and preparing his troops to launch a massive attack against his army the next day, Zi Ying was advised to either launch a sudden attack on Zhau Zhao's armies that night itself or wait to be defeated the following day as his men were far outnumbered.

Politic is like a warfare, either ‘I finish you off now (if I can ) or you will finish me off’. From the military strategy point of view, it is not difficult to envisage that the Pakatan Rakyat coalition will definitely launch an offensive at the right time and place, otherwise the alternative is to wait till the next general elections when the enemy will be much better prepared, stronger and equipped with massive ‘ammunition’ in terms of the 3Ms (media, money and machinery).

Of course, it is morally wrong to set up a government through defections of MPs into its fold, but then again the larger question to be asked are:

1. Wouldn't it be more morally wrong if they (PR) do not seize this golden opportunity to gain power and thereby help to correct all the wrongs done over the years? and

2. Wouldn't it be more wrong if a two-party system could not be formed due to this so-called moral dilemma?

In the long run (I won't be around by then), Malaysia will be better managed as a country if two main parties or coalitions compete to govern not on the basis of ethnicity, but on the basis of better government in terms of efficiency, transparency and accountability.

Come what it may, I will not hesitate to vote for BN if I detect there is any abuse of power on the part of the PR government. The bottom line is, we must have a choice on the type of government we want.
