I refer to the letter Let Pak Lah stay on and deliver .
Central to any such premise, it is imperative for Pak Lah to demonstrate that he is in control of the facts, has still the trust and support of the country and Umno in particular, and has the capability and ability to deliver.
It is predicated upon the notion that this election 'defeat' was an aberration of sorts due to Pak Lah falling asleep at the wheel and that he has since woken up.
Whilst it is true that under Pak Lah's leadership, we have had more space for dissent and public debate, Pak Lah cannot take full credit for it or if any at all. The mainstream media of which he or his party had control over were pathetic and we can thank the blogosphere and alternative media for the news that matter.
If there was a liberation of sorts in the openness of governance, it can be argued that it was not done by design but rather due to loss of control and/or ignorance.
The fact of the matter is Pak Lah is simply an incompetent leader and to compound matters, listens to the wrong people. His premiership is characterised not by what he has achieved but rather by what he has failed to do.
He may have woken up, but even if he has a bout of insomnia for the next four years, it is almost impossible to see how he can see clearly and even take action to extricate his party and the BN from being irrelevant in the future.
Already we see splits in the ranks of Umno and to make matters worse Anwar is waiting to pounce.
It is simply a bridge too far for Pak Lah, and I humbly submit to Silent Malaysians that Pak Lah is in no position to deliver and the faster we Malaysians and Pak Lah himself wakes up to this reality, the better it is for all.
