Congratulations to all Malaysians. This is the first time, I am truly proud to be called a Malaysian. I am proud that Malaysians dared to stand against the powers-that-be and denied them a two-thirds majority. I am proud that we dared to go against the kris -wielding antics of mad men who ruled Malaysia with a tribal mentality. I salute the Malaysians that were brave enough to cast their votes for the opposition despite the threats of bloodshed. I salute the opposition parties , and the Barisan Rakyat who cast aside their minor differences to stand firm and be counted as one for the overall good of Malaysia. You are all my heroes.
The day of reckoning is no longer May 13 but March 8 and what a day of reckoning it is for Barisan Nasional. This indeed is a new dawn - a new era for Malaysians. BN's loss is our gain. This gain must be cherished, protected and enlarged by all Malaysians. Cherish it as it was hard fought for. Fifty long years of fighting against whatever that was thrown at us and the opposition leaders with some being unlawfully held and jailed for protecting the rights of the people.
Jailed for standing up against rapists, murderers, corrupted leaders and robbers who stole the rights of the people of the beautiful land of Malaysia. So cherish this gain as it is sweet, very sweet.
This gain has to be protected as it is hard-eanred by all Malaysians. We cannot rest or slumber and say the job is done. I say to you, the job has just begun. I urge the leaders of the BR coalition to close ranks, unite and fight. Fight for the people, fight for their rights. Fight for our future and fight against those who seek to destroy what Malaysia stands for.
It is important now for the BR to fulfill its pledges and promises. Win the trust of the people - keep the faith. Protect the interest of the those who voted for you. Fight for them for they will fight together with you. Neglect them and they will forsake you.
Consider not only this election but the many more yet to come. Today we have good opposition leaders, leaders that are visionaries , leaders who are not afraid to put up a good fight. Will they be there tomorrow? Will they be there in five, 10 or 20 years?
Therefore I strongly urge the leaders of the various opposition parties to groom future leaders for continuity’s sake. Good governance and succession planning is key to safeguarding the gains which were obtained after they were so hardly fought for.
It has been BN's wish to send Malaysians to the moon. Together we can do that, let us Malaysians demonstrate the ‘Malaysia Boleh’ spirit. The rakyat will fight together with BR and send the BN politicians to the moon. Let us enlarge the gains by not winning five but all the13 states in the next GE.
