Since the day our oil prices were hiked there have been a lot of suggestions by a lot of people. The most vocal came from the leaders who seems to know so much about how to be thrifty. I am yet to find them declaring how they will cut their spending. After all, they are consumers just like us, right? We are told to change our cars, plant our greens, take public transport, etc.

It sounds petty but to most of us there is no more room for cuting costs. It has been hard to survive and now we should thank our lucky stars that the air is free. I wonder for how long there will be inspection on the prices of food and so on. I am sure for the officers to "turun padang" will somehow involve extra allowances.

Pick up any women's magazine and somehow you will find the face of a politician's wife. There will be pictures of their opulent homes.

The politicians can talk all they want but it is us the mere mortals who suffer.
