Dear Tony,

I read about your interest in how Malaysia handles its multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religious population.

Actually, I am surprised that you need to learn from us, as we are using the same "divide and rule" policy inherited from our colonial masters, ie. Great Britain, of which you are currently prime minister.

The formula is quite simple really. First, you need a supreme race to be in charge. Treat all immigrants as 'pendatang' or guests of the country at the pleasure of the ruling party.

Every Independence Day, remind the people of this fact because it is a binding contract which cannot be altered by any future generations.

Now and again, you will find some bright sparks who start to question the rationale of this unique arrangement. So you need a law, the Internal Security Act, which incidentally, is another legacy of your great country.

With this law, the government can detain anyone, without giving any reason, for 60 days. If the person is stubborn, then you can extend for another two years, and another two years, until he lost his will. Take it from me, it is so good that we cannot go without it. In fact, it works with strong opposition leaders too! Who knows, the Conservatives will never ever dream of taking over your job!

The real problem now is this modern technology which uses the Internet. We are having a bit of a problem now because they can be anywhere. We have tried taking all their hardware, yet it still appears. Maybe, with your more advanced technology, you might be able to better control this irritating problem which we are facing now.

Sorry, I just realised I have been telling you the secrets of how to handle immigrants, who, in your present predicament, are Muslims. In that case, I would advise you not to follow our policy.

You should uphold your great principles of democracy and human rights. Allow them more freedom to worship and stop attacking their Muslim brothers in other countries. You see, we take our religion more seriously than yours.

I hope you will study more into the history of Southeast Asian countries, especially during the British colonial years leading to their respective independence.

Remember, what is good for Europe may not be workable here, and vice versa.
