Just before the last general election was held, I wrote a letter to malaysiakini and it was published under the headline After 22 years, let us vote for our children's future.

But, the election results disappointed me because it seemed that elderly Malaysians were too forgetful while younger citizens are so ignorant of history.

Now, it seems that what I argued in my pre-election letter was right: the Barisan Nasional thrives only on people's forgetfulness and ignorance of the past.
