Why are we still harping on the issue of building more primary national schools, Chinese schools, Tamil schools and even universities based on race?
This mindset surely belongs to self-interested politicians who want to portray themselves as either 'defenders of the national language policy' or 'Malay dignity' or 'Chinese dignity' or 'Indian dignity'.
What nonsense.
We should emulate our former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad who had at one time accused as man of promoting cronyism and nepotism. Dr M then came out with a list of crony companies to back his accusation. Remember?
I would suggest that Pak Lah draw up and publicly disclose a list of our politician's sons and daughters and where they are studying now.
Believe me, almost all of them are studying in private schools, private colleges, overseas boarding schools or universities. And why? Because they are much better than our national schools and most importantly, have English as the medium of instruction!
If our ministers are our so-called 'defenders of the national language policy', 'Malay dignity' , 'Chinese dignity', 'Indian dignity' etc. then why are they not sending their sons and daughters to our national schools?
Would you?
