I refer to the report Parents question no non-halal food in school order.
It is a pity that Malaysians are getting too sensitive for their own rights without being sensitive to the rights of others. Tolerance is no longer practiced in Malaysia.
For me, being tolerant is that I don't bring to the school or office any food which is totally forbidden by my fellow Malaysians.
Being tolerant for me also means providing forks and spoons to my fellow Malaysian who cannot eat with their hands at a 'kenduri kahwin' (wedding dinner) even though 90 percent of the other guests are eating with their hands.
Tolerance is not just about eating tosai, nasi lemak, tau fu fa etc. It is deeper than that. The highest level of tolerance is when you don't impose your rights on others when you have other options.
Definitely bringing halal food to the school or office even though one is not Muslim would be one of the highest levels of tolerance.
