Why be so secretive about IGP Musa Hassan?

I refer to the Malaysiakini report IGP quit row: China Press threatened with suspension .

Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein Onn’s confirmation that a new inspector-general of police has ben identified and that the present IGP Musa Hassan will be replaced says a lot about the credibility of Hishammuddin, the present IGP and the government.

Just a day or two earlier, the China Press was given a ‘show-cause’ letter and their front-page report denied; this for reporting what may have been the truth or at least the partial truth.

If the IGP is being ‘replaced’ as Hisham was reported to have said, then why is he being replaced? When the highest-ranking police officer is to be replaced, the general public needs to know why.

He is supposedly the keeper of the peace (although his record gives us an impression that is otherwise) and he was certainly seemed as a loyal servant/partner of Umno and the present government.

Hisham goes on further to say: ‘I already know who is going to replace the IGP, I already know who is going to replace the director of the commercial crime division. I already know those who will take over, so there is no need for us to speculate and report news without basis.’

Why all this secrecy about who is to replace whom after saying the ‘I know’ bit? Is it because he is afraid the public will link these men with other issues or is there another agenda to be addressed?

What will happen to Musa, where is he going? Will he become a director of AirAsia? Or maybe even the for the new F1team? Will he be posted to Petronas as director of security? Why is this government so secretive about such issues? What has it to hide?

After denying all that was reported in the China Press and subjecting this newspaper to threats the truth prevails. This confirms the fact that the mainstream media is nothing but a government propaganda machinery.
